Lenders require proper documentation so it's a good idea to start collecting
some of the things you'll need to bring to your loan application beforehand.
To save yourself time and frustration during your loan process, start
gathering all the documentation listed below as soon as possible.
- For Your Residence History:
- Your present and previous addresses for the last 2 years
- If you currently rent, your landlord's name and address (for the
last 12 months)
- For Your Employment History:
- The names and addresses of your employers for the last 2 years and
the dates you worked at each place of employment
- A letter explaining any gaps in your employment over the last 2
years
- Original pay stubs for the lst 30 days
- Most recent 2 years W-2s and 1040s
- Transcript or diploma if you were a student in the last 2 years
- Awards letter and copy of most recent check for retirement, Social
Security, or disability income
Coupon book or most recent statement for each account you have open
- For All Savings, Checking or Investment Accounts:
- The name and address of each financial institution and the account
number
- The current balance or value
- 3 months statements on all accounts
- The Personal Property You Own:
- The net cash value for your life insurance
- The make, year and value of your automobiles
- The value of your furniture or other personal property
- For Real Estate you Currently Own:
- The property address
- The estimated market value, outstanding loan balance and the amount
of your monthly payment
- Proof of your taxes and insurance payments (current tax invoice
& declaration of your home owner's policy)
- If rental property, copy of the current leases
- If you are selling your home, a copy of the listing agreement or
any contract that you have accepted
